The Control of Soil Compaction Degree by Means of Lfwd

Compaction is a method of in situ soil modification to improve its engineering properties. The paper aim is to present the light falling weight deflectometer applied in a laboratory and in situ to the compaction control for noncohesive soils. It also includes a short description of the method development history and ways of results interpretation. The study resulted in the correlations between test results obtained by means of the light falling weight deflectometer and degree of compaction for 4 groups of non-cohesive soil types.
